News: Pilot zone for Wave Energy The Portuguese Government created a new law decree with the so called "Ocean Wave Energy Group of Work" with the purpose to define a pilot zone for the installation of wave energy farms and create mechanisms that enable the licensing projects in this area. The law decree was signed by 5 Secretaries of State of the Ministries of Economy, Environment, Agriculture, of Defence and Public Affaires and is available in the Portuguese language in the Diário da República, II Série nº 324/2006, 10th of April 2006. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Prof. António Sarmento is one of the members of the ad hoc committee for the instalation of the European Ocean Energy Association (EU-OES). The main purpose of the association is to promote and represent the sector of ocean energy worldwide. It is open to companies, research institutions, govenamental organisms and individuals willing to participate.
